I meant to post this as it was happening, but I got a bit busy; so it’s been stuck in my drafts for a while. Anyway, I was on the desk. It was a relatively quiet morning (there won’t be any more of those until summer reading is over). I was minding my own business when I overheard a tune coming from the play area. I decided to check it out. So snuck over and peeked over the bookshelf. A 5 y.o. boy had the puppet theater out and a mountain of puppets/stuffed animals piled up “backstage”. He had three or four younger kids sitting basically hypnotized as he picked up the puppets one-by-one, and sang this tune:
There’s a monkey in the toilet, the toilet, the toilet
There’s a monkey in the toilet, today!
There’s a moose in the toilet, the toilet, the toilet
There’s a moose in the toilet, today!
…And on and on he went.
Maybe for my next #FlannelFriday! or maybe not.

So funny–I’m sorry I missed it! Something must be getting through to the little darlings!

I love having a puppet theater in the children’s rooms. You really do overhear the most hilarious things sometimes.

i know! the only downside is that this tune has been in my head ever since! i find myself singing it to myself at the weirdest times.
